Description Conclusions: "In this thesis, I present the theoretical results describing the electronic and optical properties of graphene nanostructures. They are of significant interest not only from a scientific point of view but also due to outstanding properties with potential applications in nanoelectronics. We focus here on the analysis of graphene quantum dots as a function of size, shape, type of edges and charging. We started from a detailed description of single particle energy spectra by using the tight-binding model in a nearest neighbors approximation." (English)
